Repair mesh or replace a frame?
A square, sound frame that retains its spline may only need new mesh. If a tab is missing or the frame no longer stays in the track, share photos of the opening too. Two frames with the same rough dimensions can have different tabs, clearances and retention details. We will review those before recommending a replacement.
Choose mesh for the way the window is used
Standard and pet-resistant materials differ in airflow, visibility and durability. Tell us if pets press against the screen, if it faces strong afternoon sun or if matching adjacent windows matters. Existing frame color and mesh texture are useful to photograph before purchasing materials.
Measure before ordering
The useful dimensions are the outside of the existing frame, not just the glass or window opening. Include the number of screens and where they are located. If you have already bought a screen, send its brand and model so compatibility can be discussed rather than assumed.
When a specialist may be needed
Broken glass, failed window units, damaged structural frames, specialty screen systems and unsafe high exterior access may require a screen or window specialist. Fit depends on the exact frame and track.
